TIAA Bank Field – Jacksonville, FL
Along side of the St. Johns River sits TIAA Bank Field (formerly Everbank Field) in downtown Jacksonville, FL. The primary use of the stadium is for the Jacksonville Jaguars with the capacity to hold nearly 77,000 fans. Portions of the stadium were constructed with parts of the historic Gator Bowl Stadium. After some renovations occurred, the stadium reopened and debuted as the home to the new Jaguars team in 1995. It was the first time that an expansion NFL team had played its first game in a new facility.
In 2005, the Super Bowl XXIX was held at the stadium with the great attendance of 78,125 fans. Improvements were made to the stadium for the Super Bowl which includes the “Bud Zone” sports bar at the south end zone, a terrace suite above the “Bud Zone,” a bigger scoreboard display, and escalators at the north and south end zones. The ACC Championship was held at TIAA Bank Field from 2005-2007, and the Gator Bowl is hosted at the stadium annually.
