The Belmont Stakes
The Belmont Stakes returns to Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. This race is the third and final leg of the Triple Crown and normally the most challenging because of the length of the giant lap at Belmont Park. The Belmont Stakes can be the site of a Triple Crown winner if a Thoroughbred can manage to win both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes. The world-famous Triple Crown winner (Secretariat, 1973) also happens to hold the speed and margin of victory record at the Belmont Stakes.  There has always been plenty of action at the finale of the Triple Crown and this running of the event should prove no different.
