About The Preakness

The Preakness returns to Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore Maryland.  This year's edition of The Preakness will be the 149th running of the Preakness Stakes.  This second leg of the triple crown is also known as "The Run for the Black-eyed Susans" because the winner is adorned with a blanket of the Black-eyed Susans (State Flower of Maryland).  Last year the thoroughbred Lookin At Lucky took home top honors with jockey Martin Garcia as he took home his first victory in a triple crown race.  The Preakness is a very popular horse racing event that only ranks second in attendance to the Kentucky Derby.  This year a whole new group of thoroughbreds look to claim their Preakness title.

Along with exciting racing the infield offers plenty of entertainment as well. Preakness InfieldFest, is a multi-entertainment festival that will include performances by top national stars of the music industry.
