Invesco Field at Mile High has been home to the Denver
Broncos since 2001, after replacing Mile High Stadium. Invesco Field is
also home to the Major League Lacrosse team, the Denver Outlaws. In 2008,
Invesco Field was home to the Democratic National Convention. The stadium was
opened in 2001, with a concert by the legendary rock group, The Eagles. The
seating capacity is 76.125, and can be expanded to just over 77,000 for special
events. Invesco Field is working to create its own legends, as the predecessor,
Mile High Stadium had on of the greatest home field advantages in all of
professional sports. The original Mile High Stadium opened in 1948, as the home
to the minor league baseball team, the Denver Bears. It was the home to the
Broncos from 1960-2000. In 2000, Broncos fans caused the world’s largest roar
for 10 seconds, as it measured over 128 decibels. Mile High was demolished in 2002,

Named after the Coors Brewing Company in Golden, Colorado,
Coors Field is the home of the Colorado Rockies of the MLB.The field had a reputation of being a “home
run-friendly” park.This is because of
the dry air and the high elevation of the location of the field.Even though the outfield fences have been
placed at unusually far distances from home plate, in its early years, the
field gave up the most home runs, doubles, and triples in baseball. In 2002, studies found that baseballs stored
in drier air are harder and therefore are more elastic to the impact of the
bat.To fix this problem, the park
installed a room-sized humidor in which the baseballs are now stored.Since this instillation, the number of
homeruns has decreased tremendously, and is now almost the same as other parks.
Pepsi Center is home to Denver’s NHL team, the Colorado
Avalanche, and it’s NBA team, the Denver Nuggets. It features a suspended sculpture of various
hockey and basketball athletes in action poses. When the Center is not being used for a sporting event, it is used as a
venue for many concerts.
