According to many news outlets, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman has given the OK to have the 2010 Winter Classic in Boston at Fenway Park, home of the Red Sox. The Boston Bruins will be the home team with the Washington Capitals, Philadelphia Flyers, and the Montreal Canadiens as possible opponents.Â
There are some people wondering why the game will be held at Fenway Park as opposed to Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots. Gillette Stadium will produce almost 30,000 more seats to the game. This was the same reaction in Chicago when people thought the game should have been at Soldier Field instead of Wrigley Field.
Fenway Park is a legendary stadium. Opening in 1912, it is the oldest ballpark in the country. It is well-known for having a 37 foot high green wall in left field. The Red Sox currently having tickets on top of the "Green Monster" which will definately be the most popular seats for the Winter Classic.Â
If this game will be like the one at Wrigley
