It's Wrigley Field, Summertime, and the All Star Game..can it really get better than this? There is probably no better place to host an All Star Game than THE Wrigley Field. Yes, Sports Traveler is based in Chicago, and yes, we probably are a little biased. Is there a more romanticized, sought-after baseball bucket list trip destination than Wrigley Field? We don't think so.

When we first started creating the MLB All Star Game Weekend package itinerary, there were so many questions we had to ask ourselves. What do we want MLB fans traveling to our city to see while they are here for only 4 days? We think we put together the perfect MLB All Star week trip to satisfy the baseball fans, and showcase the city throughout the experience.

We start on the Chicago River with an exclusive Sports Traveler Welcome River Boat Tour Cruise. The city of Chicago is best seen from this vantage point and traverses through iconic architecture and landmarks. There is nothing like the views, and

The last 108 years or so has been torturous for Chicago Cubs fans. Then, on Saturday, October 22, 2016, a day that shall live on in the memories of modern day Cubs fans forever, the Chicago Cubs won the NLCS and earned their first trip to the World Series since 1945!

The scene here in the city has been electric. Wrigleyville was packed with an estimated 300,000 on Saturday night. The bars were over-flowing, many charging much more than their normal cover charges for a game day. Fireworks were exploding in all the cities neighborhoods well into the night after the Cubs clinched.

At night, the Chicago skyline is dotted with Cubby Blue on most of the major skyscrapers. The Art Institute has donned Cubs caps on their world famous lion statues at their entrance. Cubs jersey's and W flags are present everywhere. Both Northsiders and Southsiders have joined in a sort of peaceful unity in honor the Chicago Cubs being in the World Series.

On my way to work this morning, I passed the Metra station

Before we get into the heart of this month’s travel blog I feel it would be best to introduce myself to you all. My name is Jake Alleruzzo, the newest addition to the Sports Traveler staff. I myself have a very deep passion for sports travel and thought writing our latest blog entry would be a great way to share my experiences with you fellow sports travelers.

About a month ago I took a trip to Missouri to a beautiful region called Lake of the Ozarks, located just a few miles south of Kansas City. Being in the far western edge of Missouri is quite a unique experience, considering the mixed fandom between Kansas City Royals and St. Louis Cardinals fans. While we were in the western tip of Missouri I could have sworn I was in the heart of Kansas City as I drove through town and saw Royals flags hanging about. This goes to show you that you never know what kind of fans you can find as you travel through any given town.

Now going through this town you would figure there is not much to do besides

The National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will feature some of the best talent the game has seen from any era.  Cooperstown, NY will be the place to be on July 26th as the Class of 2014 is inducted.

This summer the baseball community will gladly welcome in three legends of baseball.  Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, and Frank Thomas will all have their places cemented in MLB history.  All three new member of the Hall of Fame managed to do so in their first year of eligibility.  This is the first time since 1999 that we have three first ballot HOF’ers in the same year.  Any clue who those three players were?

Well its that time of year again.  MLB spring training is running rampant through Florida and Arizona, and the college kids are just hitting their stride in the young season.  The 2012 season is only a few weeks old but teams are already gearing up for their run to College World Series in Omaha, NE.  Take a look at the latest poll from USA Today:

Don't change the resolution on your monitor.  You just read that correctly.  The Pittsburgh Pirates are in first place!  This is not the first week of the season.  It's the morning of July 19.

After 18 consecutive seasons where the Pittsburgh Pirates finished the year with a losing record, they are on pace not only to finish with a winning record, but to also win the National League Central Division for the first time.   Back in 1992, things were looking great for the Pirates.  They finished with a record of 96-66, which won them the National League East Division.  However, for the third straight year, they lost the 1992 NLCS to the Atlanta Braves in one of the greatest playoff series of all-time.
