The Moxy Louisville Downtown - Derby Weekend Itinerary 

Tour Itinerary Day-By-Day

Thursday April 29, 2027: (4-night guests)
Tour Day
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel we will head out to a full day of touring the local Kentucky Blue Grass and Local Bourbon Trail. Choose from one of the following tour experiences available with your package:
  
  • Option 1: Horse Farm Tour & Bourbon Distillery Tour & Tasting  (8:30 am-5:30 pm)
    This tour includes a guided walking tour through a local horse farm. See where champion race horses are raised and trained before they qualify for the Kentucky Derby. From there we head to a special tour and tasting at a local bourbon distillery. Lunch is provided a local restaurant, along with all transportation.
      
      
  • Option 2: Horse Farm Tours  (9:45 am-5:30 pm)
    This tour includes guided walking tour of two local horse farms featuring champion horse training facilities, plus lunch at a local restaurant, and all transportation.
      
      
  • Option 3: Bourbon Distillery Tours & Tastings  (8:00 am-4:30 pm)
    This is the perfect tour for bourbon enthusiasts! Take part in guided tours and tasting of two local Kentucky bourbon distilleries. Sample and rate your favorites during this fun, interactive afternoon with your hosts. After touring, enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Transportation is provided for all activities.

Thursday Evening: (3-night and 4-night guests)
Welcome Reception  

Join us in the lobby of The Moxy for a Welcome Reception featuring live music while enjoying The Brown Foreman Cocktail Experience served alongside elevated hors d'oeuvres.
  
Friday April 30, 2027: (3-night and 4-night guests)
Kentucky Oaks Day
After breakfast at the hotel, head out to Kentucky Oaks Day at Churchill Downs! Transportation to the track will depart from the hotel and drop off location outside the Churchill Downs gates.
Main gates will open at 11am and the first post will be at 12:30pm. Witness 13 races throughout the day and see the Kentucky Oaks race starting post time at 8:40pm. Unlimited food and drinks throughout the day are provided by Churchill Downs. 
Return shuttle transportation from the Kentucky Oaks back to your hotel will depart from the same shuttle drop off location back to The Moxy. 

Upon returning back to The Moxy, head to the hotel lobby for an exclusive Late Night Cocktail Reception complete with drinks and elevated appetizers.  

Saturday May 1, 2027: (All guests)
Kentucky Derby Day 

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning and then meet your shuttle transportation to the Kentucky Derby.
Today's post begins at 11:00am, followed by 14 races. The Kentucky Derby is the 12th race with a post time of 6:57 pm. Unlimited food and drinks are available throughout the day and provided by Churchill Downs. 
At the conclusion of the Kentucky Derby and trophy presentation, meet your return transportation at the shuttle pick up location. 

Tonight when you return back to The Moxy we will celebrate the end of Derby Weekend with a final cocktail reception with appetizers in the hotel lobby.
