MetLife Stadium – East Rutherford, New Jersey

MetLife Stadium is located in East Rutherford, New Jersey as part of the Meadowlands Sports Complex. It is the home of the New York Giants and New York Jets and is adjacent to the site of the former Giants Stadium, which was home to the Giants from 1976 until 2009 and the Jets from 1984 until 2010. Like its predecessor, the new stadium is the only NFL stadium shared by two teams. The unique scenario feeatures a 50/50 partnership between both NFL teams. MetLife Stadium opened on April 10, 2010 when it featured the Big City Classic lacrosse tournament. At a construction cost of approximately $1.6 billion, it is the most expensive sports stadium ever built.

The Jets played their first game in MetLife Stadium on September 19, 2010. The Jets also won their first game 28-14 over the division rival New England Patriots. The capacity of MetLife Stadium is 82,500, and will rank 3rd in size in the NFL. The new stadium construction costs are estimated at $1.6 billion.

In 2013 the stadium played host to WrestleMania XIX and in 2014 the venue was the home for Super Bowl XLVIII.  In just a few short years this state of the art facility has captured the excitement of some of the most popular events in the country.
