State Farm Stadium, formerly known as University of Phoenix Stadium is located in Glendale, Arizona. The stadium is home to the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals and the annual Fiesta Bowl. The stadium is located next door to the Gila River Arena, the home of the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes.

This state-of-the-art facility opened on August 1, 2006 after 3 years of construction. The seating capacity for State Farm Stadium is 63,400 and it can be expandable to 73,719. State Farm Stadium features some of the most recent developments in technology. Many stadiums built today feature retractable roofs, but the architects took this technology one step further. The stadium features a retractable field that allows for the stadium to have a natural grass playing field that is grown outside. On game days the grass is moved into the stadium. The retractable roof of the stadium is made out of translucent "Bird-Air" fabric and opens in twelve minutes.
