'Dega' is coming - Talladega NASCAR racing fun

Start/Finish Line - Talladega Super Speedway I love NASCAR racing at big tracks. That's why I usually turn up at the Daytona 500. But nothing compares to the shear massive-ness of Talladega SuperSpeedway. I've never seen a track so big and a race so filled with non-stop action as the racing at Talladega. If you have never experienced it, now is a great time.

Talladega is a small town located about an hour and half outside of Atlanta. The track isn't in the town. It's about 10 miles outside of town. In fact, on my first trip to Talladega I was wondering if there was a town at all. The terrain is rolling hills with small mountains lining the horizon in the distance. A beautiful scene when you sit up in the Tower seats with non-stop racing on the track below you.

My favorite memory of last year's race was that of one of our clients that had flown all the way from Australia to see the Talladega Race. We were watching them go green and the cars were zipping past and the Australian was just standing there with his mouth open in awe. He later told me that race was the best race he had ever seen. This was a guy that was big time into F1 racing and had attended races in other countries around the world. But it was Talladega that was his Wow moment. Actually it was for me too. I never seem to get tired of that first Green Flag.

We have a new Aaron's 499 Race Package Tour listed on our site that I think is the best in the business right now. I like the location of the Marriott hotel included in the tour. It's near to the airport in Atlanta and it comes with a free airport transfer. I also like the Bentley's Steakhouse inside the hotel. The rooms are great - spacious with flat screen tv's. But I have to admit, after a long day at the track I only wanted to rest up and get back to the races the next day. Going to the track takes a lot out of you, but where the buses are parked with our group makes it easy to get to your seats. You will have to walk a little bit, but not that far that it's impossible.

I really recommend taking advantage of the pit pass and the hospitality package. Especially if you are bringing kids with you - or you are a kid at heart. I love my picture of me on the start/finish line. I have pictures of me on so many tracks that I've been fortunate to be able to walk on around the country but the Talladega one is pretty amazing. The track is so huge when you are standing in the middle of it all. I have pic above of some kids on our trip with a moment that they will never forget.
