2016 College Football National Championship
The University of Phoenix Stadium will host the 2nd annual College Football Playoff Championship (formerly the BCS). The stadium is currently home to the Arizona Cardinals. Up to 72,000 fans can be accommodated at University of Phoenix Stadium. The stadium hosted Super Bowl 49 in 2015 when the New England Patriots defeated the Seattle Seahawks. The Fiesta Bowl is also held there annually.
The two best teams in college football arrive in Arizona during the CFP in order to find the one true champion. The previous season’s College Football National Championship featured the Oregon Ducks taking on the Ohio State Buckeyes; the Buckeyes earned their championship title 42-20 over Oregon.
University of Phoenix Stadium:
Many unique features accompany University of Phoenix Stadium including a roll-in natural grass field, 88 luxury suites, and a designated tailgate area called Sportsman’s Park. A retractable roof allows for the stadium to get open air into the building during milder game days. Accessing and exiting the stadium has been simplified by as well because of zoned parking areas. This allows drivers to quickly exit the field in designated exits upon an event’s conclusion.
