2010 Athens Classic Marathon

The 2010 Athens Classic Marathon will celebrate the 2500th anniversary of the Battle of Marathon.  In 490 BC Pheidippides ran from the Marathon Battlefield to the city of Athens to deliver the news that the Greeks had defeated the Persians.  Thousands of runners from all over the world are expected to participate in recreating this historic event.
